Amelia Wiebe

Amelia was born in Mexico but moved to Canada at the age of 4. Growing up, her parents would take them back to Mexico on mission trips every year, which is where the love for the country grew, as well as her interest in serving. When she graduated high school, she knew she wanted to do full-time missions, but wasn’t quite sure where, so she went to YWAM Mazatlán. That is where God really planted a desire in her heart to bridge the gap and make Him known to those that the world considers a lost cause. In 2017, Amelia went to Chihuahua and helped her sister Amanda start a school for the indigenous tribe, the Tarahumara, called Oaks of Righteousness.

Amanda Wiebe

Born in Mexico, Amanda moved to Canada when she was 7 years old. In 2014 she went to Chihuahua, Mexico to work with abused women and children and that is where she realized that she wanted to be in the mission field. Currently she is working at a school called Oaks of Righteousness.

“A BRUISED REED HE WILL NOT BREAK, AND A SMOLDERING WICK HE WILL NOT SNUFF OUT. IN FAITHFULNESS HE WILL BRING FORTH JUSTICE; HE WILL NOT FALTER OR BE DISCOURAGED TILL HE ESTABLISHES JUSTICE ON EARTH. IN HIS TEACHING THE ISLANDS WILL PUT THEIR HOPE.”

“I, THE LORD, HAVE CALLED YOU IN RIGHTEOUSNESS; I WILL TAKE HOLD OF YOUR HAND. I WILL KEEP YOU AND WILL MAKE YOU TO BE A COVENANT FOR THE PEOPLE AND A LIGHT FOR THE GENTILES, TO OPEN EYES THAT ARE BLIND, TO FREE CAPTIVES FROM PRISON AND TO RELEASE FROM THE DUNGEON THOSE WHO SIT IN DARKNESS.”

ISAIAH 42:3-4, 6-7

Mission

Vision

The vision for this ministry is to reach out to children and teens who struggle with self worth, anger issues, abuse, drugs, alcohol, unhealthy relationships, etc, with God’s love.

a place like home

We call the ministry a ‘school’, which is why parents choose to send their sons/daughters there, but it‘s much more of a ‘home’ than a school. There are currently 8 students attending. They arrive at the school at 8:30 am and leave at 2 pm; Monday through Friday. While at school, they are learning Math and Spanish, Arts and Crafts, Basic Mechanics, Cooking/Baking, Guitar, Sports, and most importantly, the Bible. The kids are also encouraged to get out of their comfort zones by participating in dramas, singing, and serving people in the community. We definitely appreciate your prayers for this ministry and we are excited to see where God will take this.

“THE SPIRIT OF THE SOVEREIGN LORD IS ON ME, BECAUSE THE LORD HAS ANOINTED ME TO PROCLAIM GOOD NEWS TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO BIND UP THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PROCLAIM FREEDOM FOR THE CAPTIVES AND RELEASE FROM DARKNESS FOR THE PRISONERS, TO PROCLAIM THE YEAR OF THE LORD’S FAVOR AND THE DAY OF VENGEANCE OF OUR GOD, TO COMFORT ALL WHO MOURN, AND PROVIDE FOR THOSE WHO GRIEVE IN ZION — TO BESTOW ON THEM A CROWN OF BEAUTY INSTEAD OF ASHES, THE OIL OF JOY INSTEAD OF MOURNING, AND A GARMENT OF PRAISE INSTEAD OF A SPIRIT OF DESPAIR. THEY WILL BE CALLED OAKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, A PLANTING OF THE LORD FOR THE DISPLAY OF HIS SPLENDOR.”

Isaiah 61:1-3
